Shamibhanjyang
higher secondary school is the apex public
educational institution among of five VDCs namely Maidi, Dhola,
Khari, Nalang and Salang which is meant to be densely populated
rural mid hill area approximately of thirty thousand populations
in the south west of Dhading district.
It was established as a primary school with just local initiation in 1965 in the name of shamibhanjyang.
Shami implies an ever green large tree which has provided
shade and shelter for living creature. Bhanjyang refers to
the pass in the hill where up and down ends together. It,
therefore, is the symbolic representation of both the life
and the universe. It has developed much within a short span
of time. Just after five years of establishment, it was upgraded
into lower secondary in 1970 secondary in 1980 and higher
secondary in 1999. It has also been developed as school resources
center leading other twenty five neighboring school. It has
run SLC exam center for years. There, being other five feeder
secondary schools, it has made possible to run higher secondary
level smoothly with streams of Arts, Commerce and Education
among nearly two hundred students now. It has been aimed to
commence diploma level for the next academic year to come.
The school located within a limited
small piece of land of its own, it has been contracted for
the growing population of 1200 students. Considering this,
school management committee has decided to extend its other
building in another public square 'Kol Bagaincha', a five
minute walk from shamibhanjyang. A piece of land with 0.5
hector attached to the public square which is almost naturally
suitable for stadium, is going to be purchased for the same.
As the declaration of guardians Assembly with ex- teachers
and students on the occasion of silver jubilee in 1995 it
has proposed to run vocational and technical education in
the future regarding social and local needs as well. To make
it further support, school has started schemes of conservation
of forests through school children with land of 2.5 hectors
kitchen garden in 0.2 hector. In addition to these, the school
resource centre has itself developed a local curriculum and
its teachers guide on five subjects such as Forest conservation
through school children, Kitchen Gardening, Horticulture,
livestock and Environmental Hygiene and have been implemented
on practical orientation in various schools so as to make
the students responsive to their parents job, the agriculture.
Moreover school is going to start computer education in order to
get the students enter into new era of IT through tele-centre
with solar power despite of electricity as yet.
Whatever, we have done, has made it possible with solely local
peoples participation. We have not had yet any reasonable
assistance from other institutions within the country or abroad.
Physical and educational facilities are still poor. That's
why we are now compelled to request all the well-wishers of
the school in order to raise their helping hands in making
it equipped and academically sound in any topic or sub-topic
